About Your Counselor
My name is Rita Roy and I am the counselor at Barrett Primary. I have 30 years of experience in education, 22 of those as a school counselor. This is my 11th year to be the school counselor at Barrett Primary. I am very excited and proud to be the counselor and I love to see lots of smiling faces at our school.
As the counselor it is my responsibility to help the students achieve academically and develop socially. To attain this goal, every student will be taught various character education lessons throughout the school year.
While school counseling is not therapy, as the counselor I can help students adjust to new situations, increase self-esteem, deal with divorce/separation, anger management, stress/ anxiety or work through relationship struggles that may be a barrier to their educational process.
I am also here to help parents and teachers in many ways. I welcome the opportunity to conference with you to discuss any school concerns you may have.
I truly believe that when school personel and parents work together,we create a winning combination for the children we love.
