My name is Amanda Gordon and I am excited to be the 6th grade Assistant Principal at Crosby Middle School.  I received my Bachelor's degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and began teaching in Galena Park ISD in 2009 where I spent most of my career with a variety of roles: middle school reading teacher, high school English teacher, basketball coach, and instructional coach.  Serving in many different roles, provoked me to obtain my Masters Degree in Urban Education from the University of Houston Downtown and then go on to get my Principal Certification from Lamar University so I could step beyond the classroom to assist on a greater scale.

This will be my first year in Cougar Nation, coming most recently from Spring ISD where I served as the Secondary Director of English Language Arts.  Although I loved the opportunity to assist in the direction of a core content area for a school district, my heart was on campus with students, and my passion for growing students and teachers led me to this great school where students come first, teachers are constantly excelling, and the community is second to none.  Though cliche, I am truly ecstatic at the opportunity to work here in Crosby and be a part of such a family-oriented town.  I look forward to working with students, teachers, and parents to help every Cougar grow!
