Krystina Brown, a former Newport Elementary student, presents new U. S. and Texas flags to Christy CoVan the Principal at Newport. Krystina chose to purchase the flags for the school as part of her Bronze Award project for Girl Scouts. The money used to purchase the flags was raised by recycling aluminum cans, renting herself out to help teachers after school and from a donation from the Newport Elementary Student Council. Krystina is currently a sixth grade student at Drew Intermediate in Crosby ISD.
