Congratulations - Boys Varsity Golf Team

A big congratulations goes out to the Boys Varsity Golf Team.  The team placed first in the Crosby Varsity Boys Invitational held Friday and Saturday at Newport Golf Club.  This marks the first time that Crosby has won their own two day tournament.  The team beat Kingwood and The Woodlands to earn the victory by ten shots.  After shooting a first day round of 333 in the rainy and cold conditions, the team found themselves in third place. The team bounced back with an outstanding performance by shooting 309 which is their best round of the year  The team was led by Cody Crabtree who shot rounds of 79 and 73 to finish as the runner-up medalist.  Cody had 7 birdies in his 2^nd round.  Way to go Cody!!  Justin McKay shot 83 the first day and came back nicely on Saturday with a 75 highlighted by an eagle on hole 15.  Justin finished in 5^th place individually.  Great playing Justin!!  Jonathan Marek played a very solid tournament and shot rounds of 85 and 80.  Preston Cantrell shot rounds of 86 and 81 in his second varsity action of the year.  Corey Lewellyn shot rounds of 87 and 89 to round out the Cougar scoring. 

Kyle Rogers played as a medalist and shot rounds of 93 and 86. 

The team will be in action again this Friday and Saturday at Greatwood Golf Club. Congratulations on the tournament victory and good luck this weekend.
