Student council representatives sort coins during the ‘Hearts for Haiti’ fund raiser

    Student Council representatives collected coins for the children of Haiti during the week of Feb. 15th-19th.

The representatives collected, sorted and prepared the coins for rolling.  A total of $791.25 was collected.

 

   All students of Newport Elementary were involved in this fund raiser. Since February is Heart Month, the student council members combined their efforts to correlate with the activities of the physical education teacher, Ms. Marek. Students ‘raised their heart rates’ through jumping ropes, hippity hopping, hula hooping and dancing.
