It is my sincere pleasure to serve as principal of Barrett Elementary in Crosby ISD. Barrett Elementary has a tradition of excellence that results from the commitment of our school’s staff and parents to the education of their students.   

As an immigrant child from Mexico, my community molded me into the learner I am today. The instruction provided through the public school system helped open the doors to greater possibilities. I believe education can change the trajectory of a person’s life. My life experience strengthens my commitment to giving all students the chance to pursue a brighter future.  

I am a proud graduate of the University of Houston Clear Lake (UHCL). I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Educational Management and hold a principal certification. I am currently enrolled at UHCL as a doctoral candidate. I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. Go, UHCL Hawks! Over the past 20 years, I have served my school communities in various roles, such as bilingual teacher, writing coach, Family Involvement Coordinator, District Bilingual Specialist, Assistant Principal, and District Bilingual ESL Coordinator.  

When away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Without the support of my family and friends, none of my accomplishments would be possible.  

I look forward to working with teachers, parents, and community members to provide our Barrett students with the best learning environment so that each student can reach their maximum potential.

I welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year at Barrett Elementary. This will be my second year as Assistant Principal at BES. I am looking forward to this year being the best yet!

This will be my twelfth year serving the Crosby ISD community.  I have served in several roles throughout the district and have lived in the community for 20 years. 

I have been married to my husband, Brian for 20 years.  We have two sons, Bradley and Andrew.  Bradley graduated from CHS in 2023 and Andrew will be a junior. 

Previously to working in Crosby, I taught in Sheldon ISD for 7 years where I coached at CE King High School and taught math at CE King Middle School, Null Middle School and Garrett Elementary.

I received a Bachelors of Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics from Texas Lutheran University.  I also had the opportunity to play softball for the Bulldogs while at college.  I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University. 

In my spare time, I enjoy being outside and active.  We are either at the baseball field or on the lake soaking up the sun. I am also an avid reader and try to read at least one book a week. 

My heart is and always will be centered around children.  I just love kids and being with your child on a daily basis is my happy place.  Student growth, success, and happiness is always my goal.
