Destruction of Expired Special Education Records
As required by Federal Rule 34 CFR 300.624, Crosby ISD does hereby give notice to eligible students or the parents of students of the district’s intention to destroy Special Education records that have expired retention periods. The retention period for Special Education records is seven (7) years after graduation or cessation of services plus seven (7) years. This will include those students receiving special education services who graduated. Those that have expired retention periods will be destroyed as noted by the rules of the Department of Education Federal Register, no sooner than 7 years past cessation, unless objected to by eligible students or the parents of the student in writing to:
