Section 504

The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, commonly known as Section 504, is a federal civil rights law that protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination in programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance. In public schools, Section 504 ensures that eligible students with disabilities have access to the same educational opportunities and benefits as their non-disabled peers.
