Substance Prevention/Intervention

Crosby ISD offers a proven prevention program designed to educate and empower students about the dangers of substance use and abuse. This program promotes healthy decision-making, emotional well-being, and positive conflict resolution. Students also develop essential life skills to support their personal growth while participating in fun, substance-free activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Students will be using the Botvin Lifeskills Training curriculum that consist of 7-10 sessions for secondary students. All lessons will be conducted at your child’s Crosby ISD School campus. The District Therapist will lead students through the sessions and works closely with Crosby ISD’s Principals, Counselors and Teachers to ensure that our program does not interfere with your child’s required core subjects or classes.

Crosby Middle School students will participate during the school day during an elective period one day per week and can check in with Mrs. Ríchard throughout the week.

Crosby High School students will participate in an after-school “club” setting, called Cougar Connect, from 3:00-4:00pm on Tuesday afternoons.
