Ms. Yolanda Calvin
Greetings and I am so excited to meet you. My name is Yolanda Calvin-Netherly. I have been a special educatoe for six years. Before teaching I was in the field of social work and healthcare. I am Crosby native and CHS alumni. I am a wife and mother of three wonderful adult children who are also CHS graduates. I completed my undergrad studies at Lamar University and currently working on my Masters in Special Education. I currently hold teaching certifications Special Education EC-12 and Generalist Ec-6. In addition, I am an active member of TAVAC, “Transitioning Students to Achieve Independence Through Career Education”, an organization with a high level of professionalism for VACs , Transition Specialists, Job Coaches, Vocational Counselors, Life Skills Teachers and other professionals working directly with VAC students or in the area of transition. I also hold a membership with tcta, “Texas Classroom Teacher Association”. I am super proud to say I was nominated as CHS New Teacher of the Year for three consecutive years. I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace the differences of others.
