From Newport Elementary, 3rd grader Allyson Henley. Principal Price says Allyson is a shining example of kindness and integrity, always striving to make the right choices and lead by example. Her intelligence and independence set her apart, as she consistently goes above and beyond with everything she does. Reliable and well-mannered, Allison understands and follows campus expectations with ease, making her a role model for her peers. Every day, she demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, proving that even at a young age, leadership and good character can make a difference. Newport Elementary is lucky to have such a bright and dedicated student like Allyson.

From Crosby Elementary, 3rd grader Pedro Milan, Junior. Principal Kratky-Fox says Pedro is a shining example of what it means to be a CES Cougar, living out the ROAR expectations every single day. He is always ready with a cheerful greeting and even a few high-fives for his teacher, Mr. Hamm. His enthusiasm extends beyond academics as a proud member of the CES Chess Club, where he is well on his way to becoming a chess master. His teachers describe him as simply incredible, with countless positive qualities that can’t possibly fit in just a few sentences. Pedro’s kindness, leadership, and joyful spirit make CES a better and happier place for everyone.

From Crosby High School, 11th grader Josephine McAnespy. The following words are from Health Science Teacher, Kristi Thompson. "Josie is one of the best students we've had in the history of our Health Science program. When I say, 'best' I definitely mean that she maintains an almost perfect grade average. But her being 'best' goes far beyond this. This year, she happens to be in class with one of our special education students and she goes out of her way to ask to do group projects with her, helps her with work without being asked, and looks out for her in general. I have many students who are willing to step into this role when asked, but what makes Josie stand out is that she perceives the need on her own, often times even before I see it. Josie is active in JROTC and theater. She is outspoken and proactive in completing work ahead of being out of class for a school activity. She is truly one of a kind!" We are so very proud of you!

BUSINESS PARTNERS OF THE MONTH
This school year, we are featuring a “Business Partner of the Month” each month. What a wonderful time we’ve been having inviting a local business owner or employees who spend a few hours each month volunteering at one of our campuses.
Principal Hall and her team at Drew Elementary rolled out the red carpet for our volunteers from Chick-fil-A Crosby: Rene Rivera, Krisel Torres, and Maria Hernandez.
First up, Rene visited Ms. Green’s classroom where he helped students with math flashcards and Accelerated Instruction time. He found out quickly that free Chick-fil-A gift cards are a real motivator!
Then Maria visited the gym at Drew and the students put her to work! Squats, mountain climbers, you name it, she did it all. What a great emphasis on physical fitness! Maria later visited Mrs. Odell’s room to help with 4th grade Accelerated Instruction.
Krisel was busy in the science lab, for a sugar shaker experiment. Students had to color each line of a sugar cube before shaking them more than 200 times to see what would happen.
Krisel was also the most popular person on campus when she stopped by Ms. Debose’s classroom. She was handing out gift cards like they were going out of style as students handled homophones and diagrammed sentences. Thank you, Chick-fil-A Crosby, for supporting our students in so many ways. Krisel, Rene, and Maria, please come on up.
ALUMNI OF THE MONTH - "COUGARS FOR LIFE"
Jayce Wheeler, Crosby High School Class of 2021
Finally, the Board recognized our Alumni of the Month or Cougar for Life. Since he graduated in 2021, Jayce Wheeler has launched his own landscaping business in Crosby and continues to give back to the Crosby High School Agriculture Mechanics Department. He thanks the CHS Ag Department and teacher Mr. Paul Odom for making him the entrepreneur he is today.
