Crosby, TX (May 10, 2023) - This week, Crosby ISD, the Board of Trustees, and Superintendent Patterson recognized VIP's who have made an impact during the 2022-2023 School Year. The District hosted the End of Year Celebration Banquet to honor teachers of the year, principal of the year, community members of the month, community leaders, and members of Superintendent Patterson's Cougar Council.

"BETTER TOGETHER" AWARDS

Ms. Angie Darboone, Interim Principal of Crosby High School. Ms. Darbonne is the District Science Coordinator. She stepped up halfway through this year to manage CHS. She has done an outstanding job leading the campus on a temporary basis. She balanced student needs, staff requests, and parent needs. She proved we are Better Together.

Ms. Jewel Whitfield, Interim Principal of Crosby Middle School. Ms. Whitfield is the Assistant Superintendent of Administration. She stepped in to fill a gap when the CMS Principal, Mr. Sanchez, was called to Active Duty in the Air Force Reserves and also faced a personal battle with cancer. Ms. Whitfield juggled principal duties with her Assistant Superintendent assignment, all with ease and grace. She spent countless late evenings at the campus making sure students had what they needed, the staff was prepared for the next day, and students were safely home. Because of her dedication, Ms. Whitfield is also receiving our "Better Together" award.
