My name is Christy Tisdom, Principal of Charles R. Drew Elementary School. I was born and reared in Chicago, Illinois where I received my formal education and began my teaching career. I joined Crosby ISD in 2007, where I’ve served as Assistant Principal at Barrett Elementary and a teacher at Newport Elementary. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. I have a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. Additionally, I hold a master’s degree in Educational Management from the University of Houston Clear Lake. In 2018-2019, I was selected as the Crosby ISD Elementary Principal of the Year.I am proud to serve the Crosby/Barrett Station Community. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. I am married to my husband, Desmond, and we have two children, Desmond and Caitlynn, who are also proud Cougars!

Mrs. Tara Rogers, Assistant Principal

Tara Rogers is our Assistant Principal at Drew Elementary School. Mrs. Rogers joined Crosby ISD this year. Before joining the Cougar Family, she served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and teacher in the Humble Independent School District for nine years. While in Humble, Mrs. Rogers was also named the District Elementary Teacher of the Year out of 29 campuses and was awarded several grants through their education foundation.
 
Mrs. Rogers grew up in East Texas and attended school at Wells High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston while serving as the Vice President of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin.  Mrs. Rogers is married and has two living children. During her free time, she enjoys camping with her family in their RV or hanging out on Lake Houston in their boat.
