What are PLC Days?

Posted by:
PLC is an acronym for Professional Learning Communities.
Professional Learning Communities allow teachers an ongoing opportunity to work collaboratively to plan, research, and exchange ideas for the purpose of better serving their students.  Our PLCs are an important part of our academic success in Crosby ISD and we have planned times throughout the year for our teachers to work together.

[2019-2020]
Elementary Schools (Including Crosby Kindergarten)
Crosby ISD has set aside four FULL-DAY PLC times for elementary teachers.  On these days, PreK-5th grade students will not attend school. The following days have been designated as PLC Days for all Elementary Campuses including Crosby Kindergarten Center.  Parents are responsible for finding appropriate child care on these days:

Monday, September 16, 2019
Friday, November 1, 2019
Friday, February 28, 2020
Monday, April 13, 2020

* These days are also noted on the Crosby ISD DIstrict Calendar

Secondary Schools (CMS and CHS)
PLC Days work a little differently for Crosby Middle School and Crosby High School.  PLC for our secondary campuses take place every Wednesday morning.  You'll also hear us referring to these PLC days as "Late Wednesdays."

On these Wednesdays, our 6th grade - 12th grade students will start school promptly at 9:00 am.
There are a few Wednesdays a year that we do not have PLC time. We will notify you of these days throughout the year.  We will also let you know when our PLC days begin for 2019-2020.
