Crosby, TX (January 5, 2024) - The U.S. Department of Education has released the redesigned version of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The form has been trimmed down from 108 questions to as few as 18. The Department of Education says the new form can be filled out in as little as 10 minutes.
The soft launch of the new FAFSA form includes some periods of intermittent website pauses. If you visit the site during a planned pause, check back later to access the form. Visit StudentAid.gov/announcements-events/fafsa-support for more information on what to expect during the soft launch.
The FAFSA form is used to determine financial aid eligibility for college for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Here is the link to the 2024-2025 FAFSA form: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. The Department of Education says applicants will have ample time to fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA and should not rush to complete the form immediately.
