Definition of Bullying

Bullying can occur as one significant incident or a repeated pattern of acts that involves a real or perceived imbalance of power.
Bullying may involve:
- Physically harming a student, damaging a student's property, or making a student fearful that he/she will be harmed or property that belongs to them will be damaged
- Being severe, persistent, or pervasive enough that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive educational environment for a student.
- Distruption of the educational process and orderly operation of a classroom or school
- Infringing on the rights of the victim at school
Cyberbullying is also considered a form of bullying and involves bullying that is done through the use of an electronic communication device - cell phone, computer, camera, email, instant/text messaging, social media, website, or any internet-based communication tool.
