The Counseling Department in Crosby ISD is an integral part of the complete education process. The focus is to provide a comprehensive systematic approach to assist and empower all students in acquiring the skills needed to be academically successful and college/career ready, while providing assistance for those in need of special services. Implementation of this process is provided through a balanced approach of guidance curriculum, responsive services, individual planning and system support.

Nikki Blanchat serves as our District Lead Counselor. In addition to her role as the District Lead Counselor, Mrs. Blanchat is the Lead Counselor for Crosby High School. She also works as the coordinator for the district crisis team. Providing professional development for counselors, teachers, and staff members in the areas of mental health awareness and crisis has been key topics that Nikki has integrated district-wide. Prior to becoming the District Lead Counselor in 2017, Mrs. Blanchat was named the Director College and Career Readiness in 2013, Nikki also served as a professional school counselor at Crosby Middle School from 2009-2013. While at CMS she was the campus testing coordinator. She began her career in education as a dance educator and high school dance team director, with ten of those years being at Crosby High School. In addition to her role as the dance director she also held the position as Fine Arts Department Chair. She has been an active member of various committees throughout the district for the past 17 years. Nikki currently serves on the Crosby/Huffman Chamber of Commerce Education committee, the Lee College Cradle 2 Career Committee, the Positive Behavior Support (PBIS) Committee, as well as the Crosby ISD CTE Advisory Committee. You can always find Nikki lending a helping hand to campuses around the district. She says that although she did not graduate from Crosby High School her Cougar Pride shines RED & WHITE!
