CISD Staff COVID Guidelines
We will continue to follow guidance issued from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding the exclusion period for school staff members who are COVID-19 positive. TEA’s guidance has now aligned with the CDC’s updated guidance for a reduced exclusion period. Crosby ISD will implement the new TEA guidance of a 5-day exclusion period for district employees.
STAFF WHO ARE COVID-19 POSITIVE
If symptomatic, staff may return to campus if:
- at least 5 days have passed since symptoms began.
- -AND- they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-suppressing medications.*
- -AND- other symptoms have improved.
*Fever is a temperature above 100 degrees.
For staff with no symptoms, they may return if at least 5 days has passed since the day they tested positive.
To assist in determining return dates: consider the onset of symptoms as Day 0 (zero) and the date of return on Day 6. If you are asymptomatic, consider the date of your positive test as Day 0 (zero) and the date of return on Day 6.
